The Oredo Gas Facility upon completion will provide a 100 million standard cubic feet per day for the Country, from the OML 111.
The Gas project has capacity with fractional and LPG dispensing units. When completed in the third quarter of 2013, it will boost the level of gas provision in the country.
It said the current 65 MMSCFD has the potentials of boosting and supporting power generation in the Nation, by 260 megawatts, thereby assisting the Federal Government in its quest to boost power generation.
Speaking further on its plan and strategy for 2013, the NPDC stated “In addition to the existing Gas Handling Facility, NPDC has commenced another project which will deliver 100 MMSCFD of raw gas to Pan Ocean Oil Corporation to utilise its spare capacity available in the Ovade Ogharefe gas plant. With these projects, gas flaring at NPDC Oredo fields will be eliminated in line with the flare out directives of the Federal Government ”.
