As the nation celebrates its fallen military heroes, Sokoto State has launched the occasion with a token donation of N7million.
The donation which was given by dignitaries at the occasion, including the State Governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko was aimed assisting the state chapter of the Legion.
While acknowledging the noble sacrifice of the fallen heroes in ensuring the indivisibility of the country, Governor Wamakko also prayed for their souls to rest in peace.
The governor further directed that monies realized from the occasion should be given to the Nigeria Legion, Sokoto State Chapter.
Speaking on behalf of the legion members, Alhaji Bello Bado, Sokoto State Chairman, Nigerian Legion thanked the donators and state government, and also assured that such monies would be judiciously used.
Dignitaries at the occasion include the State Brigade Commander, representative of the Commissioner of Police, senior military and paramilitary officers, State PDP chairman, and state commissioner for information, among others.
