Accord Party will bury PDP in Ibadan, Ladoja boasts

A former Governor of Oyo State and National Leader of Accord Party, Rashidi Ladoja, said on Thursday that the party would not brook any act of thuggery, promising an open door to all peace-loving politicians in the state.

Speaking while receiving some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the Ibadan North West Local Government Area of the State, Mr. Ladoja said his party would drive the final nail on the coffin of the PDP in Oyo State.
According to him, those who still remain in the PDP are wasting their time.
Boasting of victory any time an election is conducted in the state, he said Accord is the only party that could offer the kind of leadership Oyo people deserved.
“We are here to welcome people into our party. Today in Ibadan North West, everything called PDP is finished. Then, there was a party called PDP but now they are finished; PDP rest in peace in Ibadan North West.
“We buried PDP in Ajaawa and today is Northwest. People are surprised that people are leaving party governing to come to Accord,” he noted.
The former governor, who also contested the 2011 election but lost to Abiola Ajimobi, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) candidate, told his audience that the kind of acceptance the party is enjoying in the state is unprecedented.
“Those still left in PDP should join the train. Baba Obafemi Awolowo said people of like minds will be together. People make party; party don’t make people. We don’t use gun and we bring succour to people.
“Rod of success is coming back to Oyo State. We don’t want thugs in our party. No discrimination in our party. Bring more people to us and our doors are opened to you. We are throughout South-West. I implore you to be in peace; we need to be in power in Oyo State,” he said.
Alleging that the ruling ACN government is afraid of conducting local government elections for fear of electoral defeat, he said his party is already making inroad to Ibarapa and other zones in the state, saying they are assured of success whenever elections are allowed to hold.
Earlier in his speech, Remi Ayodele, PDP chairman of Ibadan South West, who led hundreds of his supporters to defect to Accord, described the PDP as a ‘mad house of crisis.’
He said the party is rotten from head with various leadership crises, saying it will soon lose relevance in the nation’s politics.
