EFCC embarks on training for its junior cadet officers.
In an effort aimed at improving its capacity to fight corruption and economic crimes, the Economics Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has commenced the training of the first batch of junior cadet officers.
The seventy one officers of the Detective Assistant Cadre 1 commenced their training on January 7, 2013 at the EFCC Academy, Karu, Abuja.
The batch, comprising 59 male and 12 female officers are expected to spend 24 weeks at the Academy.
Welcoming the trainees on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde, the Commandant of the Academy, Ayo Olowonihi, restated the need for discipline while assuring them of their welfare and safety.
He warned that the academy would not hesitate to send away any cadet found wanting on the grounds of insubordination or issues to do with their identity and documentation.
