Ghana's President John Mahama has named a former Regional Minister as his Defence Minister while former Agriculture minister has been appointed Minister of the Interior, a government statement said.
In the third batch of 12 ministers that completes the traditional ministries, he nominated Mr Mark Woyongo as the Minister of Defence while Mr Kwesi Ahwoi will be at the Interior ministry, it added.
``President Mahama has so far nominated 31 people for ministerial positions.''
The statement said that Deputy Ministerial nominations were yet to be announced.
The statement said President Mahama has also appointed Mr Paul Victor Obeng, a veteran politician since the days of former President Jerry John Rawling, a military ruler in the early 1980s, as a Senior Presidential Adviser at the Presidency.
He has also appointed Ms. Mawuena Dumor Trebah, a Communications Expert, as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, it said.
