The Kogi State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners has organized an interdenominational prayer session for the quick recovery of Governor Idris Wada.
The Governor sustained a thigh fracture in a fatal auto crash along the Lokoja-Ajaokuta highway about two weeks ago. His aide-de-camp, ASP Idris Mohammed died on the spot.
Chairman of the union, Chief Onu Abdullahi, noted that there exists a cordial relationship between the union and the Governor.
He said for the first time, pensioners received pension before Christmas last year, adding that the ongoing seven-day fasting and prayer would end on Sunday.
In his address, Kogi Head of Service, Moses Atakpa, commended the union for the prayer. He said the Governor was recuperating soundly and would fully resume to work soon.
The gathering was also used to pray for the peace and development of the state and the country in general.
