Following her outstanding performance in the Ghanaian movie industry, Jackie Appiah has been tipped to win the Best Actress Award in the maiden edition of Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awardd.
The sensational movie star, who has carved a niche for herself in the movie industry, has received a number of awards in Ghana and beyond.
Jackie Appiah was hopeful to sweep the award she has been nominated for and expressed her appreciation for her nomination in the Best Actress category in the awards.
She said, ‘I’m really happy and honoured. I’m so excited about it. I’m happy that all the efforts I put into the movie is paying off.’
Jackie Appiah was nominated for Best Actress (Drama) for her role in ‘Perfect Picture’ alongside other top African stars including Bubu Mazibuko, Genevieve Nnaji, Nolwazi Shange and Funke Akindele.
In 2010, Jackie won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress with the same movie and she was hopeful it would do the magic again. ‘I hope I win, it’s a tough category because all the actresses in the category are good; the few that I know are all good actresses individually.’
She also commended M-net Africa for coming up with the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and added that such awards would encourage her, other actors and producers to work harder and give of their best.
