A new political party from members of opposition parties is set to debut in the next few months to challenge
the supremacy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the newly formed (All Progressive Congress), the presidential candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in 2011 election, Chief Martins Onovo, has said.
At a press briefing in Lagos, Onovo said leaders of opposition parties, civil society organizations and professionals have commenced high level discussion under the umbrella of Movement for Fundamental Change
Change (MFC) With the hope of coming up with a political platform that can challenge the dominance of PDP and APC.
“We already have a movement in place. The movement isn’t a political party yet, but at the end of the day we hope to have from it a political platform under which we can challenge the dominance of ruling party and the newly formed APC. This is because the movement we are into is the movement of the people. It is not about politicians but Nigerians who desire a change. Our membership will cut across political parties, civil society groups and labour leaders, among others,” Onovo said.
