The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended Aero Contractors operations until the company’s aircrafts are audited and recertified fit for flying.
Aero had applied to NCAA to grant it permission to resume operations yesterday but the NCAA declined.
Confirming the development, acting Director General of NCAA Joyce Nkemakolam said “the airline will have to go through re-certification” process again.
“Aero notified us about the suspension so we acknowledged it but we have to rectify it before they resume operations”, she said.
It would be recalled that the airline’s workers have been on strike for over a week now for which it sacked 600 striking workers.
