Police Officers To Get Salaries On The 26th Of Every Month

In what can appropriately be termed an effort to further curb the tide of corruption in the Nigeria
Police Force (NPF) it has been revealed that all police officers will receive their monthly salary not later than 26th of every month. This new development is connected with the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPS) which the Nigerian Police has decided to embrace.
The revelation was made by the Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), Mr Jonah Otunla, while speaking on Tuesday, at a workshop on IPPS, organised for the police by the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation. The AGF commended the Nigerian Police for embracing the new system, in line with the transformation agenda of the Federal Government.
Declaring the workshop open, the Accountant-General observed that, like any other group of people would react to change, the Nigeria Police was not different. However, he said the police would be better for it, as officers and men of the force would be receiving their monthly salary not later than 26th, in addition to proper record-keeping of personnel information which was also part of what IPPS was all about. The workshop was entitled: “Change management and awareness workshop for officers and men of the Nigerian Police.”
