Everton manager David Moyes has admitted that he is frustrated with the lack of funds available to him but commended his squad for consistently performing above their pay grade.
Moyes, who is out of contract at the end of the season, says the Toffees are far behind the likes of Champions League qualification rivals Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool when it comes to finances.
However, following Sunday's 0-0 draw with rivals Liverpool, Everton remain in the fight to qualify for the Europa League for the fifth time in the 11 years that Moyes has been in charge.
"I don't want to talk about cash but it is a factor," he told reporters after the game at Anfield.
"We are a long way down in competing financially with a Tottenham, an Arsenal or a Liverpool, but no-one was thinking about that while we were on the pitch.
"We've come on from where we've been. We've got a good team, good players and we will try to grow it and make it better."
