Hull City, who has been out of the Premier League since been relegated in the 2009/10 season, will return to Britain’s top tier football league next season. It will be their third campaign in the Barclays Premier League.

In their debut season under the tutelage of Coach Phil Brown, Hull got off to a flying start winning six of their first nine matches including victories away to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, and they secured their safety on the final day by one point and one place.
They were later relegated the next year, and went on to finish 11th and then 8th in the Championship, before calling on Steve Bruce, who has a record of upgrading championship teams to the Premier League.
“I have been around the block and this was wonderful entertainment, but Jesus Christ, it’s put us through the ringer,” Bruce said. “Overall we deserved it. I would like to say well done to Watford who pushed us all the way.”

Against Cardiff, on the final day of the season, Hull had a chance to seal their promotion with victory, having a penalty in injury- time while leading by 2-1, but the spot- kick was saved and Cardiff leveled at the other end with a penalty of their own. That meant Watford (also were in contention for a second automatic Promotion) could go up if they beat Leeds but with their match at 1-1 and continuing after Hull’s had finished because of a long first- half injury- time, conceded instead and eventually lost 2-1.

Anyone of Watford, Brighton and Hove Albion, Crystal Palace and Leicester city who will play- off for the final slot, will join champions Cardiff and the newly promoted Hull City in the Premier League next season.
Robert Koren, who previously played for West Bromwhich Albion in the top flight emerged Hull’s top scorer. Among the other player that will be returning to the Premier league next season for Steve Bruce’s Hull City are former Sunderland midfielder David Meyler and ex- Stoke and Senegalese defender Abdoulaye Faye.
