The improvement in power supply across the country is not about to diminish as the federal government has assured Nigerians that by the end of June 2013, the country will be generating 5000 megawatts of electricity.
The Director-General, National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN), Mr Reuben Okeke gave this assurance when he paid a working visit to Shiroro Power Station, Niger state.
He maintained that the federal government power reform programme is on course and achievable despite the many opposition facing the implementation of the nation’s power sector master plan.
Mr Okeke however lamented the dearth of qualified engineers in the power sector, a situation he noted that the NAPTIN is determined to change.
He also dispelled the insinuation going round that the improved power supply across the country is due to the favorable weather conditions.
