The Kano State Police Command on Wednesday paraded two suspects in connection with the murder of two members of the State House of Assembly late last year.
The suspects are former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Tarani Council of Kano State, Alhaji Saleh Kura, and a suspected hired killer, Ibrahim Lawal.
The two lawmakers Danladi Isah Kademi and Abba Garko who were killed by unknown gunmen late last year were members of the State House of Assembly.
Parading the suspects before newsmen, the State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, said that Kura who is said to be the mastermind of the murder was apprehended after the police tracked down Lawal, who linked him as their sponsor.
According to him, Lawal upon interrogation confessed they were paid the sum of N100,000 to kill the Lawmakers.
He said “Our investigation also revealed that Kura’s name and GSM contact were found in Lawal’s phone and we further discovered different call logs between the duo, which clearly corroborates a grand criminal conspiracy between them.”
