An ex-student of the Federal University of Technology, Minna has been apprehended for beheading a woman after raping her.
The man, Godwin Edeko, was said to have lured the woman into his house, raped her, then used a sharp object to sever her head.
Edeko reportedly dumped the victim’s body in the toilet and concealed her severed head in a used cement bag.
Other residents of the building were alarmed when they discovered that blood was flowing from the toilet. The discovered the body and confronted the suspect who later confessed to the crime.
He was almost lynched by a mob when a respected community leader prevailed upon the crowd to hand him over to the police.
Efforts are on by the Niger State police command to identify the victim.
The suspect who is currently in the custody of the police was said to have been expelled from FUT, Minna, over six years ago for engaging in cultism.
