Yomi Awoniyi, the Kogi State deputy governor, has cut short his 12-day Christmas break to return to the state.
Awoniyi, who returned to Nigeria on Sunday was on vacation in London, UK, for 9days.
According to his chief press secretary,
Abu Michael, Awoniyi was said to have visited governor Idris Wada on
Sunday at the Cedarcrest Hospital in Abuja where he had recently being
operated upon after being involved in a auto accident which killed his
Aide-de-camp.
Wada was said to have had a broken thigh-bone in the accident which was later operated on.
Awoniyi said Wada is in high spirits after undergoing the surgery in Abuja.
He urged Kogi citizens to maintain calm assuring them that the administration’s transformation agenda is on-course.
Awoniyi in his New Year message, said the state would witness a new
dawn in infrastructure development in 2013 under Wada’s administration.
Awoniyi thanked the people of the state for their support for Wada’s
administration, and urged the people to live in peace with one another.
