The First Lady of Lagos state, Abimbola Fashola has been
going round hospitals in the state to present gifts to babies born on
the first day of the New Year.
The first baby born in Lagos this year baby Ademuyiwa Carew came into
the world at about 12:01 am at the maternal and child centre, Gbaja,
Surulere, she weighed 2.5kg.
Mrs Fashola urged parents to take advantage of the various health
facilities in the state while asking medical personnel to ensure
efficient healthcare delivery for all residents.
The First Lady was accompanied by the Commissioner for Health, Dr.
Jide Idris, his Education counterpart, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye, Special
Adviser on Health to the Governor, Dr. Yewande Adeshina and Chairman,
Health Service Commission, Dr. Wunmi Salako.
