Despite a torrid month which has seen them knocked out of the FA Cup to Championship side Blackburn and seemingly staring at a last 16 exit in the Champions League to Bayern Munich, Wenger believes Arsenal are capable of ending the season as runners-up to Manchester United.
Arsenal are nine points behind second-placed Manchester CIty with 11 games to go but Wenger is confident his side will have a strong end to what has been another below-par campaign.
"Man City is not out of reach. It could be a tight fight until the end," he said.
Despite their much-publicised defeats to Bayern and Blackburn, Arsenal have won three on the spin in the league - their most recent success coming in a 2-1 win against Aston Villa on Saturday.
And even though they are currently fifth in the table, Wenger believes Arsenal can overhaul rivals Spurs, Chelsea and City to automatically clinch a place in Europe next season."I'm not sure it will only be a fight with Tottenham," he said of a potential battle for fourth place. "I'm not sure the other places are not reachable.
"Chelsea are just ahead and even Manchester City is not out of reach. It could be a tight fight until the end."
Arsenal have not finished outside the top four since Wenger took over in 1996.
