A couple on Thursday appeared in a Surulere Magistrates' Court, Lagos, over the theft of clothes and jewelry worth N300,000.
Christiana Olusile, 36, a civil servant and Olalekan Olusile, 38, a trader, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, false pretence and stealing.
The couple, who resides at No. 16 Michael Akinkunmi St., Alagbado, Lagos, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Gbenga Salami, told the court that the accused sometimes in September, 2012, went into a boutique and stole clothes worth N300,000.
Salami said they obtained the clothes and jewelry from one Mary Wilson, the salesgirl of Mrs Bukola Oladeji, on the pretext that they would pay later.
The prosecutor said the offences, committed at BeeBee collection boutique, Akerele extension, Surulere, contravened Sections 285, 312 and 409 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The Magistrate, Mrs F.B. Lawal, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 and with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case to April 10 for trial. (NAN)
