The governor said those who made the new cabinet should consider their appointment as a call to service. He, therefore, urged them to work harder to bring the gains of democracy to the people of the state.
He advised the returning appointees to use their experiences to work better, while urging the new entrants into the government to come up with fresh ideas for good performance.
He said, “I charge you to gird your loins and hit the ground running immediately. It is however imperative to bear in mind that should anyone be found tired along the way, we shall not hesitate to replace them with the available pool of substitutes to ensure the sustenance of strength and vitality to coast home victorious on the agenda to transform our dear state.”
The governor charged the new cabinet to interact well with the people of their constituencies and carry along technocrats in their ministries to record success in the efforts of his administration to liberate the people from the grip of poverty.
Fayemi said that his administration had performed creditably well in the first two years in office. He, nevertheless, charged his aides not to relent, saying, “There is still a long way to go.”
He warned them against getting involved in any corrupt practice, stressing that anybody caught would be handed over to the law enforcement agency for prosecution.
