On Thursday in Lagos, the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Abubakar, disclosed that
renovation of the Police College, Ikeja, would begin as soon as fund was released for the purpose.
The fact that he specifically mentioned the Ikeja campus of the Police College makes one wonder if the renovation, when it begins, would not extend to other colleges which weren’t fortunate enough to be visited by the president.
The IGP said this during the foundation laying ceremony of the proposed two-storey building named after the former Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Commassie, at the SFU. He was represented by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police ‘C’ Department, Emmanuel Udeoji.
The IGP did not give details on when the money would be released. He only said that when it comes, it would be for both renovation and provision of equipment.
