The Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, has announced the kidnap of its Vice Chairman (Southeast), Dr. Chudi Nwike, in Anambra state, Nigeria.
The party said Nwike was kidnapped on Tuesday and that the kidnappers had contacted the victim’s family.
According to the ACN, the kidnappers are currently demanding N30 million ransom for the release of Nwike.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Wednesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party quoted Dr. Nwike’s younger brother as saying that the kidnappers were demanding N30 million, but that this must be paid in hard currency.
The party called on the country’s security agencies to do everything within their power to ensure the safe release of the victim.
It also assured Nwike’s family of its prayers
