The management of Aero Contractors has agreed to reinstate its 655 sacked workers. This was the resolution reached with the Senate Committee on Aviation in Abuja yesterday.
The committee met with Aero Contractor Managing Director Obaro Ibru, President of the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers Mr Balami Isaac David and acting director general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Joyce Nkemakolam.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, the chairman of the committee, Senator Hope Uzodinma (PDP, Imo) said his committee intervened in the matter so that the airline could resume flight operations very soon.
Uzodinma said "we started the meeting with the aim of resolving this crisis and by the grace of God, we've agreed on some issues. The management of Aero Contractors has agreed to recall the staff that were dismissed."
