The terrified 25-year-old fled when the hotel’s boozed up manager woke her in the early hours and offered a “free hand oil body massage”A British tourist was injured today after jumping from a hotel balcony fearing she was about to be raped by the manager.

The terrified 25-year-old believed she would become India’s latest sex attack victim when the hotel’s boozed up manager Sachin Chauhan woke her in the early hours and offered a “free hand oil body massage”.

So she leapt from the second-floor room, injuring her leg, head and ribs, before fleeing the building to safety.

Police Senior Superintendent Subhash Chandra Dubey said the woman had booked a 4am call at the Hotel Agra Mahal, in Agra, Northern India.

But Chauhan allegedly propositioned her instead.

The woman, said to be a dentist from London, spurned his advances and sent him packing.

However Supt Chandra added: “He knocked on her door again. This scared the victim.

"She thought that if she opened the door she could be raped or murdered.

“Eventually Sachin went away but returned for a third time with a security guard and started banging on her door.

"The victim panicked, leaned out of the hotel window and screamed for help.

"When no help was forthcoming, to save herselfshe jumped from the window, landed on a first floor balcony and ran down the stairs out of the hotel to a tea stall nearby.”

Stunned locals helped the woman, who has not been named, into a rickshaw taxi car that took her to Rakabganj police station.

She was later treated in hospital.

After being discharged in the afternoon, she was tonight moved to a different hotel where she was being guarded by two woman police officers.

Chauhan was tonight being quizzed by police on allegations of molestation and harassment. He branded the claims “baseless”.

But police sources said he admitted boozing and entering the woman’s room at the hotel, which is near the Taj Mahal.A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We are aware of an incident involving a British national in Agra.”

Diplomatic staff in India were said to be on their way to see the victim today.

On Friday, a 39-year old Swiss tourist was gang-raped by eight men in Datia district in Madhya Prades.

And last December, medical student Jyoti Singh was raped by a mob and murdered on a bus in Delhi.
