fans question Satan's resemblance to Barack Obama

Viewers of the History Channel's new TV series 'The Bible' have been struck by the remarkable
resemblance between Satan and Barack Obama.The religious miniseries has become a surprise television hit; drawing 13.1 million viewers last Wednesday, more than the 12.8 million who watched American Idol.
The resemblance between the Moroccan actor, who plays the fallen angel in the episode 'hope', Mehdi Ouazanni and the US President set Twitter alight with mixed reactions.
Glenn Beck, the right-wing commentator and radio host was the first who remarked on the similarity.

Claims such as these have given rise to comparisons with the use of George Bush's head impaled on a stick during an episode of Game of Thrones (this was later removed by HBO).

The History Channel has responded saying that the channel has "the highest respect" for the President and called the connection "unfortunate".

The programme's Producer, Mark Burnett, has called the comparison "utter nonsense" claiming that Ouazanni has "previously played parts in biblical epics" including satanic characters before Barack Obama was elected.

Ouazanni has appeared in several biblical themed projects, including the 1998 TV film 'Jeremiah', NBC's miniseries 'In The Beginning' in 2000 and ABC's miniseries 'The Ten Commandments'.
