The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Christian Matters, Reverend (Dr.)
Sam Ogedengbe has called on political parties in the state to consider a Christian for the office of the governor in the 2015 general election.
Speaking at the banquet and annual get-together thanksgiving service of the All Christian Leaders/Ministers Forum (ACLMF) which took place recently in Lagos, Ogedengbe who is also the National President of ACLMF acknowledged the excellent performance of the current governor of the state, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, a Muslim, but noted that since the constitution does not allow him to run in 2015, and in view of the fact that Muslims have been ruling the state since the country returned to democratic rule in 1999, a Christian should be given the chance this time around.
In his sermon at the thanksgiving service, Rev. Dr. Nick Medo-Uwa, the guest speaker at the event, implored Christians to always utilise the concept, “prayer with action”.
According to him, if all Christians could come together as being sermonized, heaven would move in their direction and stamp their request as far as putting in a Christian governor in Lagos State and all other high positions in the country.
