abandoned striker,Emmanuel Emenike, following the injury he sustained at the 2013 African Nations Cup.
The media officer of the Super Eagles,Ben Alaiya, said that Keshi tried to reach Emenike on the phone but the player was no longer using the number, the coach had.
“When Keshi discovered that the number was not going through, he called his national team mate, Ahmed Musa, to help get Emenike’s new number but Musa said that Emenike refused to give him his new phone numbers. That is why the coach is stuck on this matter,” Alaiya said.
Emenike last week alleged that he was abandoned by the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) and also Stephen Keshi, whom he said did not bother to call him after he copped a hamstring injury,in the semi-finals of the Nations Cup against Mali.
“If you want to talk to your player and he does not want to talk to you what then do you do. I think if Emenike has personal issues against any member of the team, he should come out and say so instead of whipping up public sentiments at a time concentration should be on the game against Kenya in Calabar,” Keshi said.
So who do we believe?
