First lady Michelle Obama appears on the cover of the upcoming Vogue magazine, showcasing her beaming smile, toned
arms and a no nonsense attitude.
The first lady glows on the esteemed fashion mag wearing a navy, sleeveless dress. Yes, her bangs are front and center, too.
And, let us just say, at 49, the girl’s still got it. Compared to her first appearance on the glossy in 2009, this pose aims for dignified over open and friendly.
But looking this proper comes pretty easy for the president’s leading woman. Her main objective, as she explains in the accompanying article, is her family.
“Our job is, first and foremost, to make sure our family is whole. You know, we have small kids; they're growing every day,” she says. “But I think we were both pretty straightforward when we said, 'Our No. 1 priority is making sure that our family is whole.’”
Despite all the pressures and constraints that come with being the president’s public companion and even backbone at times, she makes time for raising daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, which is a colossal task on its own.
“The stresses and the pressures of this job are so real that when you get a minute, you want to give that extra energy to your 14 and 11-year-old,” she says.
The president adds: “As I joked at a press conference, now that they want less time with us, who knows? Maybe you’ll see us out in the clubs.”
