A Nigerian Government delegation in the U. S on Saturday visited the family of the late Prof.
Chinua Achebe, who died on Thursday night.
The delegation, led by Nigeria’s Ambassador to the U. S, Ade Adefuye, and Nigeria’s Consul General in New York, Habib Habu, visited the Achebes in Boston, where his wife, Christie, has relocated.
Mr. Adefuye, in a telephone interview with the North America Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said the delegation, during the visit, pledged support to the family during the funeral arrangement.
He said that the family also promised to inform government of the final burial arrangements for the late literary icon.
NAN learnt that the Governor of Anambra, Mr Peter Obi, would arrive in the U. S on Sunday to pay a condolence visit to the family.
