Sir Alex Ferguson has warned his Manchester United players the Premier League title is not yet won.
United hold a commanding 15-point lead over Manchester City, who visit Old Trafford on Monday for the derby.
Despite United's formidable points advantage, with just eight games left, Ferguson has warned his players there can be no let-up until the title is won.
As well as City, United also face Arsenal and Chelsea in their final eight games, and Ferguson warned against thinking the title was already in the bag.
"We have still got to win the title," said Ferguson.
"We've still got to play games to win the title.
"At this moment in time there are eight games left, so 24 points to play for.
"I think the way we have approached it this season has been the right way, which is to win your next game.
"That's what we've tried to do. Win your next game and after that win your next game.
"If that hopefully takes you to winning the league, then we can say what the season has been like."
Ferguson also warned his players not to allow City to derail United's title charge by winning at Old Trafford.
"The important thing is winning Monday's game," said Ferguson."For City it's a big game also for them, in the sense that they want to come and derail us for a spell, and I can understand their motivation. We would probably be the same.
"But we're at home, our consistency in the league is there for all to see and I expect us to perform really well."
Asked why City had not been able to keep pace with United, Ferguson said: "You should ask them that, that's not something I can answer.
"We have focused on ourselves and you have to give the players great credit.
"Our focus and team spirit has been very, very good, and our concentration in every match has been good.
"The only thing I said at the start of the season was make sure we don't lose it on goal difference again.
"They've corrected that part. At this moment we're 10 goals ahead of City, although that can changed overnight of course, in a couple of games.
"Nonetheless it's a big turnaround from last year, as is the points total. So you have to congratulate the players on their consistency.
"They've won 25 of 30 games, which I think is a record that should be applauded."
Asked if United had been given enough credit for their heroics this season, Ferguson said: "I don't think it matters.
"We've only eight games left. It's a wee bit late to be getting credit now. I don't think it bothers me too much."
Asked if he would mention City's last visit to Old Trafford - when they thumped United 6-1 - to his players ahead of the game, Ferguson said: "Do you think I'm going to mention that? Jesus Christ!
"I can talk about our form this season. I think we'll probably concentrate on that."
Robin van Persie has managed just one goal in his last 12 games for United but Ferguson said he was unconcerned at the striker's perceived dip in form."He doesn't need a rest, that's for sure," said Ferguson. "He's a strong lad with a great physique.
"It's a bit disappointing the goal at Sunderland wasn't awarded to him, but I can understand that as it took a wicked deflection.
"But the goals are there and they will come. He's like all strikers, they get dry spells, they hope it ends quickly and Robin is no different."
Wayne Rooney and Rafael started training today and should be fit for Monday, while Nemanja Vidic and Jonny Evans should start training on Saturday.
