3,000 Rendered Homeless By Ebute Meta Fire Disaster

The harmattan season has really come on strong in the new year as a string of fire incidences will turn out to b*ttress – from the palace of the Alaafin of Oyo in Oyo state, to the plank village inferno in Ebute Meta and the explosion at MRS Petroleum Tank Farm in Tincan Island Ports.

Following the fire that rocked Ebute Meta, about 3,000 people are reported to have lost their homes in the inferno as nothing was left standing at the plank village in Ebute-Meta as the fire raged through the night leaving thousands of people homeless.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) claimed it will kick start immediate resettlement plans to give succor to those displaced and provide needed relief materials.
