Titled My Sister's Keeper, the series will follow Williams and her sisters as she prepares to release her new gospel solo album. It is being made by Entertainment One, which also produces a reality show starring gospel duo Mary Mary.
Meanwhile, Entertainment One's music division will release the album. Williams said in a statement: "Working together on my new gospel album and television series, I am excited to share with everyone a behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration and journey of recording for the album, performing, fun family times and other unforgettable experiences out together with my dear sisters."
It is unknown whether Beyonce and Kelly Rowland could also make appearances during the series. Earlier this month, Williams reunited with her bandmates during Beyoncé's halftime show at the Super Bowl, despite insisting beforehand that the reunion was not going to happen.
Williams, who has released two previous solo albums, is the subject of the infamous Poor Michelle blog, which bills itself as "a compilation of all the times Michelle Williams got the short end of the Destiny's Child stick".
