ReubenAbati - President Jonathan Not Responsible For 2015 Campaign Posters

Reuben Abati, Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, has said that President Goodluck Jonathan has no hands in posters in Abuja campaigning for his election in 2015.

Mr. Abati said in an interview with State House correspondents on Wednesday in Abuja that the people that are behind the posters were not acting as the President’s agents.
“The President is focused on delivering on his mandate for Nigerians and would not be distracted by politics of 2015.
“Those pasting the posters are trying to express their own view as the President has stated that he will talk about the Presidency in 2014. “Those doing these do not have the consent of the President,” Abati stressed.
He reiterated that President Jonathan’s priority was to deliver on his election promise to Nigerians and not to embark on the pasting of posters.
Mr. Abati said there was no reason for President Jonathan to engage in any form of “scare-mongering’’. “He has said that by 2014 his position on the 2015 presidential race would be made public. Nigerians should wait till then,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the posters were pasted in the high brow streets of Abuja on the eve of the New Year. One of them had the President’s portrait and read, “2015: No vacancy in Aso Rock. Let’s do more. One good term deserves another. Support Dr Goodluck Azikiwe Jonathan for 2015 Presidency”.
