Nigerian athletes sure of winning Youth championship in Warri

With the African Youth Athletics Championship commencing tomorrow in Warri,the Nigerian
athletes representing the country at the competition,have assured that they will endeavour to win medals in their respective events.

The two captains in the male and female categories Atuma Ifeanyichukwu Andrew and Chinyere Anulika,assured that they will win the competition on homesoil.

“We will bring back gold silver and bronze. We have worked hard enough to win,’’ Atuma was quoted as saying on Vanguard Sports.

“The coaches did a lot of work on us. Training was intense and focused. Everything was done according to the schedule and we maintained that discipline till now,” the athlete assured.

The maiden edition of the African Youth Athletics championship,meant for athletes under the age of 17 will commence tomorrow in Warri and climax on March 31.
