Lionel Messi will lead an all-star cast in a charity match held in Chicago this summer.
The Barcelona and Argentina superstar will be joined by the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Thierry Henry, while France and Juventus legend David Trezeguet is among a list of 'veterans' also taking part.
The match has been dubbed 'Messi and Friends', and will pitch together a selection of the record-breaking forward's club and international team-mates against a World XI, with a total of 36 players involved.
This event will feature the world’s greatest players in a festival of soccer, the most popular sport on the planet,' said Sergio Codino, vice president of Numero 5 LLC, the match’s organiser.
'The Messi and Friends friendly, much like the NFL Pro Bowl or the MLB All-Star Game, will provide fans with an incredible opportunity to witness the world’s greatest athletes from the world of soccer together on the field of competition before the Fifa World Cup in Brazil in 2014.'
The announcement follows last year's 'World Masters of Soccer' friendly, in Miami, during which Messi teamed up with Clint Dempsey, Luis Suarez and others.
This summer’s game will take place at Chicago’s Soldier Field on July 6.
